2024 NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
FRIDAY, AUGUST 9 • EVENT STARTS at 5:30PM
Under the Shade Sails at Finkbiner Park
160 N. Wabash
National Night Out is a annual nationwide observance sponsored by local police departments to encourage interaction between neighbors as a crime prevention tool. Law enforcement officials also use the event to teach other safety measures to residents.
Neighborhoods throughout Glendora are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the "Annual National Night Out" (NNO) crime and drug prevention event.
COMMUNITY
We focus on neighbors getting to know and socialize with each other, with the goal that the more they get to know each other, the more likely they are to watch out for each other. This would enable them to know what activity is normal and what is suspicious, then to take action. They are encouraged to meet neighbors surrounding their homes by completing forms with contact information.
Glendora PD asks residents to focus on crime prevention that results in their own neighborhood crime watch. This allows neighbors to share information and aids in organizing their own crime watch prevention on keeping homes, neighborhoods and the city safe.
GOALS
- Raise awareness for drug and crime prevention
- Empower local anti-crime efforts through support and participation
- Continue to strengthen neighborhood spirit and GPD-Community partnerships
- Send a message to criminals - Neighborhoods are organized and fighting back!
