Under the oversight of the Recreation & Human Services Department, the Human Services Division and the La Fetra Center provides programs, services, and activities to active adults over the age of 18 for residents and non-residents alike. Some programs, such as the Nutrition and Meals on Wheels programs, require a minimum age of 60 years old.
The Human Services Division strives to maximize the quality of life for older adults by providing programs that:
- Promote dignity and self esteem
- Foster independence
- Facilitate social interaction
- Dispel negative stereotypes about aging
The La Fetra Center is looking for talented and community-oriented individuals interested in teaching their skill. In order to best serve the community, it is the Department’s policy to not have classes that compete against each other. Classes that are the same or are similar to those currently offered will not be considered.
- For an example of the classes we currently offer please view the City of Glendora Recreation Guide.
- For non-fee and fee based classes, special events, and rentals, please email below or call (626) 914-0560.
