The City of Glendora invites all interested parties to attend public hearing and express their views.  Should you be unable to attend a public hearing, comments must be made in writing and delivered prior to the scheduled hearing date.  Related documents are on file for public inspection and copying, for the cost of duplication during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, exclusive of holidays.

PLEASE NOTE:  If you challenge any of the proposed action(s) in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing, or in written correspondence delivered at, or prior to, the public hearing.

Notice of Unscheduled Vacancy - Planning Commission and Business Improvement District Advisory Board

 NOTICE OF UNSCHEDULED VACANCIES

on the

PLANNING COMMISSION &

BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTIRICT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Cal. Gov't Code§ 54974 the following unscheduled vacancies exists on the following legislative body in the City of Glendora:

 

Planning Commission

Said vacancy exists as of September 7, 2022 to Office No 4. The unexpired term will end June 30, 2025.  The successful appointee will be required to file a “Statement of Economic Interest” (Form 700) within 10 days after assuming office.

 

The Planning Commission consists of five members appointed by the City Council to four-year terms.  The Planning Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council on land- use policy planning matters which guide the future development of the City. This Commission meets on the first Tuesday of each month.

 

Qualifications: Applicants must be 18 years or older, register to vote and must maintain residency within the incorporated areas of the City of Glendora during their term of office.

 

BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTIRICT

Said vacancy exists as of August 31, 2022 to Office No 3. The unexpired term will end June 30, 2023.

 

The Business Improvement District (B.I.D.) of the city shall consist of five members. This Board serves local businesses within the district through promotional activities and beautification and serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council and Planning Director.

 

Qualifications: Members must operate bona fide businesses within the District that are subject to charges and assessments imposed by the Glendora Municipal Code during their entire term of service and must be current with payments. Board meets on the first Thursday of each month. 

 

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that the final appointment to an unscheduled vacancy on a board/commission, shall not be made by the City Council for at least 10 working days after the posting of the notice by the City Clerk’s office.  That date will be Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

           

APPOINTMENT PROCEDURE:  Applications are available via the City’s website at www.cityofglendora.org or at the City Clerk’s Office, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., except holidays.  Completed application forms must be filed with the City Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022. It is anticipated that interviews and/or appointments will be schedule for Tuesday, October 11, 2022.  Applicants will be contacted to schedule interview times following the recruitment deadline.
